Most distributed-solar companies in the region are organised as installation businesses. Precifarm is organised as a long-lifecycle infrastructure operator. That distinction shapes how we hire, how we pay, and how we keep score.
Engineering, not sales.
Every site is sized against a written load assessment and a fixed scope. Nobody at Precifarm closes a deal by promising what the system cannot deliver. The number we put on paper is the number we install.
Five years of after-install accountability.
The crew that commissions a system is the crew responsible for it through year five. There is no handoff to a subcontractor. Responsibility is durable, not transferable.
We grow on revenue, not capital.
No outside investors. No targets that depend on a fundraise. Headcount expands when customers fund it, which keeps the engineering work honest and the quality bar enforceable.
What we look for
Engineering judgement, plain writing, and a long horizon.
- Engineering judgement over engineering credentials. We read transcripts; we also read the projects you finished outside of them.
- A bias toward measuring before specifying. The cost of a wrong assumption on a Commercial system is several months of margin.
- Comfort with site work. Most of these roles spend the first two years closer to a roof than to a desk.
- Plain writing. Every quote, every commissioning report, and every fault log goes to a customer who pays attention.
- A long horizon. Precifarm is built to be operating in 2045. We hire for that timeline, not for a two-year exit.

Field Solar Engineer

Full-time
Site assessment, system commissioning, and the first two years of preventive maintenance for residential and SME installations across the assigned regional hub. EBK registration or progression toward registration required.

Embedded Firmware Engineer
Nairobi
Full-time
Contributing to the Neura Pod control firmware and OTA update infrastructure. C or Rust on ARM Cortex-M, comfort with constrained memory budgets, and an interest in long-lifecycle field software.

Solar Irrigation Specialist
Eldoret or Nakuru
Full-time
Hydraulic system design, borehole assessment, and pump-controller commissioning for agricultural deployments from 1 to 100+ acres. Background in water engineering or agronomy preferred.

O&M Technician
All six operating hubs
Full-time
Scheduled preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and warranty work across the installed fleet. Trade certification in electrical installation, comfort working at height, and a clean driving record.

Internships and graduate placements
Nairobi (rotating)
Twelve weeks
Structured rotations across engineering, operations, and customer commissioning. Open to final-year and recently graduated engineering students. Applications are reviewed quarterly.

Shortlisted candidates have a structured technical conversation with the relevant team lead, then spend a day with the field crew on a live installation or commissioning. We make a decision within two weeks of that day.
